Markel American Insurance Company announced its sponsorship of Formula Racing in 2003.
In addition to the sponsorship, Markel American’s Marine Division and Formula enjoy a newly enhanced relationship. Formula owners can take advantage of Markel’s marine insurance program tailored specifically for such owners with enhanced coverages and excellent rates. Transit and storage coverage through Markel Marine (www.markelcorp.com) have been made available for all APBA race teams with nationwide coverage.
In 2002, Formula Racing teams finished second and third at the World Championships in Key West, Florida and for the second consecutive year, won the coveted Mercury Marine Constructor’s Cup Trophy for the most podium finishes of any manufacturer.
