Robert V. James has been promoted to CNA insurance companies’ executive vice president of U.S. Insurance Operations for CNA Property & Casualty Operations. The announcement came from James R. Lewis who precedes Mr. James in this position and will become president and chief executive officer of CNA Property & Casualty Operations.
In his new position, James will have responsibility for all primary standard commercial lines and U.S. operations, including $4 billion in revenues; as well as the property & casualty Processing and Billing Operations. Prior to this, James served as executive vice president of CNA’s Technology & Operations Group and has held various leadership roles, including chief operating officer and executive vice president of Commercial Insurance.
“Bob’s business experience, strong leadership skills and his recent experience in technology make for a winning combination that will be an asset to our property and casualty team,” said Lewis.
Prior to joining CNA, James served as president, Middle Markets, for AIG. He held numerous operations and sales management positions at Allstate Insurance. James has also been an independent agency producer and owner; and has held marketing, underwriting, operations and technology assignments with Allmerica Financial Corporation.
