SAFECO entered into an agreement with Administration Associates Inc. (AAI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Association Group Insurance Administrators Inc. (AGIA), to provide malpractice insurance for attorneys in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. On July 12, AAI will begin its role as program administrator.
Among its responsibilities as program administrator, the organization will handle the marketing, evaluate risks and underwrite policies covering attorney’s E&O. Currently, SAFECO offers E&O to attorneys practicing in Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island and Utah.
SAFECO also offers E&O coverage for other professions including: accountants; architects and engineers; insurance adjusters and appraisers; directors and officers of nonprofit organizations; and directors and officers of for-profit companies.
