North Dakota’s House has endorsed legislation that exempts riders of horses and bicycles from drunken driving laws.
The House voted 91-1 Wednesday to allow intoxicated people who either pedal or saddle up to ride without fear of criminal prosecution.
The legislation still allows riders on horses and bicycles to be charged with non-criminal offenses such as speeding or other traffic violations.
The measure now goes to the Senate for consideration.
