Meredith Thomas, an independent broker of Neenah, Wisconsin-based Jewelers Mutual Insurance Group, was recently recognized for his outstanding achievements as the 2018 recipient of the company’s Legacy Award.
The award was presented before an audience of his agent and broker peers, by his son, Simon Thomas, at JM Summit, Jewelers Mutual’s annual conference for its agents and brokers.
Thomas started his career at Lloyds of London reviewing and writing policy wording. In 1975, while working for Minets (now AON), he was asked to move to Uganda where he became the youngest managing director at age 24. In 1983, he moved his family from England to Scotland to work at TH Marsh, where he began cultivating his expertise in Jewellers Block Insurance. The family moved to Canada in 1987 and Thomas continued to share his expertise of Jewellers Block. In 1998, Thomas formed CJB Insurance and the agency quickly grew to become the leader in the Canadian Jewellers Block space.
Thomas is an active member in his community and beyond. He has donated his time to many projects, including serving as president in various Rotary clubs, official election monitor in El Salvador, ambulance driver in South America and much more. He currently spends his time and energy at his local church restoring and renovating the property.
Since 1934, Jewelers Mutual has partnered with agents to serve its commercial lines policyholders.
