GEICO is offering its ridesharing insurance product, which delivers end-to-end coverage for personal and ridesharing use, to drivers in Ohio.
New and existing drivers that have been approved to drive for Uber (UberX and UberXL), Lyft, Sidecar and other services in Ohio can now get the insurance coverage they need through GEICO.
The company said the rideshare market in Ohio has seen “substantial growth.”
GEICO’s ridesharing product replaces the driver’s personal auto policy and provides coverage regardless of whether the driver is logged into the transportation network company’s app.
The product is available through GEICO Commercial at a price significantly lower than taxi and commercial rates, the company said.
