Managing general agency and surplus lines broker J.M. Wilson promoted Samantha Johnston to property/casualty underwriter in its Portage, Mich., office.

Johnston will be responsible for quoting, binding and servicing property/casualty accounts for independent insurance agents.

Johnston gained experience as an intern with J.M. Wilson before being hired as a P/C assistant underwriter. Prior to that, she completed an internship with Frankenmuth Mutual in the claims department. In 2014, Samantha earned a degree in Insurance and Risk Management from Olivet College.
