The National Weather Service says a storm that damaged a manufacturing facility in southeastern South Dakota was the result of straight-line wind and not a tornado.

The Yankton Daily Press and Dakotan reports that the facility west of Irene was damaged just after 2 p.m. on June 1 as a storm rolled through the region.

A section of the steel metal facility was torn away and pushed onto Highway 46, blocking traffic for more than an hour.

Much of the Yankton area was drying out and cleaning up Monday after weekend storms.

There was tree damage reported at a golf course in Yankton. A crew began removing downed branches and a few fallen trees on June 2.
