After a 63 percent growth spurt over the past two years, Milwaukee, Wis.-based HNI, a non-traditional risk management firm, announced it is launching a sales and advisory development program to recruit and rapidly onboard four to six new producers.
The program will be open to a new group of candidates every year, starting in June. Ideal candidates will have an aptitude for sales and less than five years of experience, according to HNI’s leadership. Sales trainees don’t need knowledge of insurance, a recruiting strategy the company says is unique among insurance agencies.
The training program compromises five modules: Orientation to HNI and its culture; insurance and risk basics; employee benefits; business acumen and advisory; and sales skills. Each module involves group learning, quizzes, and study guides, as well as in-the-field activities and roleplaying. Following successful completion of the course, new and existing employees will earn the internal designation of Certified Risk Advisor.
HNI offers insurance, benefits and business advisory services to its clients across a broad range of industries.
