Jeff Kohlmann appointed as the insurance program manager of the Wisconsin Injured Patients and Families Compensation Fund (Fund).
Kohlmann has been with the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance (OCI) since 1983. He worked as an insurance financial examiner in the Division of Regulation and Enforcement for eight years before assuming a position with the Fund. Kohlmann has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
The Injured Patients and Families Compensation Fund’s mission is to provide excess medical malpractice coverage to Wisconsin health care providers and to ensure that funds are available to compensate injured patients. The Fund was created by the Wisconsin State Legislature in 1975.
Health care providers obtain primary medical malpractice insurance from private insurance companies in an amount required by statute.
