Summit Reinsurance Services Inc. (Summit Re), based in Fort Wayne, Ind., has added Vice President and Lead Reinsurance Underwriter Shaun Peterson to its executive staff. Peterson joins the Summit Re actuarial and underwriting team and will focus on provider excess-of-loss insurance and health plan excess-of-loss reinsurance.
Peterson is a former United Healthcare director of actuarial services. Prior to that, he was a senior executive with HCC as vice president for reinsurance and chief actuary for Perico Life Insurance Company. Peterson has extensive experience in both the insurance and reinsurance markets.
Summit Re is a full-service managing underwriter, working exclusively with Swiss Re Corporate Solutions to provide medical excess-of-loss coverage to health plans, providers and insurers. Headquartered in Fort Wayne, In., the company also has offices in Minneapolis, Minn., Jacksonville, Fla., Charlotte, N.C., and Indianapolis, Ind.
