Officials say nearly $350 million in federal and state disaster assistance has now been obligated to North Dakotans for this spring’s flooding.
By Sept. 29, 10,178 people had registered with the Federal Emergency Management Agency for assistance. More than $93 million has been approved in 8,932 grants for temporary housing and essential home repairs.
Another $2 million has been approved in another program that covers needs such as property losses and medical and dental expenses not covered by insurance.
More than 600 temporary housing units have been occupied by residents repairing their homes.
People in Barnes, Benson, Burleigh, McHenry, Morton, Ramsey, Renville, Richland and Ward counties and the Spirit Lake Nation can apply for assistance.
The Small Business Administration has approved more than $227 million in loans for residents and businesses.
