The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) announced a Swanton man has been sentenced for workers’ compensation fraud.
David Tressler was sentenced to five years of community control, ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $22,427.60 to BWC, and $1,000 in investigative costs.
BWC’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) received an anonymous phone call notifying investigators that Tressler was reportedly working while receiving benefits. Investigators confirmed that Tressler was employed by Express Auto Sales and Spud’s Auto Parts while receiving temporary total disability benefits.
Tressler reportedly suffered injuries to his back in a car accident in April 2000 while working for K&L Trucking Company.
