Deerfield, Ill.-based , a provider of specialized resources for the management of disability, absence and productivity for insurers and employers, today announced it has acquired the majority interest in Disability Management Alternatives (DMA), based in Farmington, Conn.
DMA’s co-founders, Mike Dunst and Ken Lucas, along with their seasoned executive team will remain in place to lead the company as a member of the LewisCo Group.
DMA is a leading national third party administrator with over 400,000 lives under management in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. DMA boasts disability durations 20 percent to 40 percent lower than industry averages with claimant satisfaction scores of 90 percent and higher. This combination of reduced disability duration and claimant satisfaction enables DMA to significantly reduce employer disability costs.
