Okemos, Mich.-based launched SIRCON-gov, a next-generation, Web-based regulatory management system that provides state insurance regulators an automated and more efficient way to manage, process and track critical information on agencies and producers at the summer NAIC national meeting June 21-24 in New York City.
SIRCON-gov demonstrations were given to State Insurance Departments at the meeting.
Currently, SIRCON-gov contains modules for producer licensing, continuing education and company appointment validation. Work is already under way on the modules for consumer services, enforcement and rate and form filing. Specifically, the Web-based regulatory management system’s benefits by module are:
Producer licensing module:
鈥擬anage license applications and renewal approvals for electronic or paper applications
Accept electronic applications through SIRCON and the NIPR for non-residents and through SIRCON for residents
鈥擱eview and update all demographic, license and qualification, appointment, continuing education, alias and bond information
鈥擳rack and maintain associations between business entities and individual producers
鈥擳rack and maintain sponsorships between solicitors and their sponsoring producer
鈥擜utomated electronic appointment and termination processing
鈥擯rocess service requests for name and address changes, requests for letters of certification, letters of clearance and duplicate licenses
鈥擯rint, reprint and e-mail documents and inquiries in PDF format
Continuing education module:
鈥擳rack and maintain providers and provider courses
鈥擯rocess course completions for individuals
鈥擳rack and maintain continuing education requirements and compliance for individuals
Company appointment validation:
鈥擳rack basic information regarding insurers and their authorized lines
鈥擯erform validation to ensure insurers and producers are currently licensed for the appointment types requested
鈥擯rint, reprint and mail documents, such as appointment action letters and appointment billing/renewal invoices, and inquiries in PDF format
鈥擡nable insurers to process their appointment renewals electronically via the Internet
