Wisconsin’s Office of the Commissioner of Insurance (OCI) announced the launch of a new Web page for small employers, designed “to help Wisconsinites with small businesses search for insurance.”
“The cost and availability of insurance can be one of the ‘headaches’ that small business people deal with now,” stated Eileen Mallow, Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Insurance. “Based on inquiries we’ve received, OCI staff have put some advice and resources together in one place on the Internet for small businesses to use as they work on their insurance needs.”
The new site covers worker’s compensation, group health insurance and disability insurance, consolidates information and provides links to other resources, including state agencies, state laws and consumer publications.
“For people less familiar with insurance in general, the page also includes a link to a glossary of insurance terms, and an explanation of common acronyms,” Mallow indicated. “Educating yourself is half the battle when you’re insuring your business.”
