Specialty insurer Neon announced that Theo Butt will be joining the company in September in the newly-created role of group underwriting director for Neon Holdings Limited.
Butt joins Neon from Ascot Underwriting where he has worked since 2006, leading property underwriting since 2009 and as head of non-marine within the executive underwriting team since 2011. Prior to this, he held a variety of roles at Marsh and JLT.
Butt will report to Martin Reith, group chief executive.
Neon operates in the specialist Lloyd’s market, underwriting property, specialty, casualty and marine risks on a direct and reinsurance basis, as well as through delegated authorities. Neon is headquartered in London. Neon is a member of the Great American Insurance Group, based in Cincinnati, Ohio.
