Steamship Mutual, the London-based protection and indemnity (P&I) club, announced it has been granted a license to operate as an insurer from its Singapore branch office.
“This is a reflection of the club’s commitment to vessel owners and operators from the region as well as further afield, improving choice when it comes to their P&I cover…,” said Jerry Westmore, CEO of the Singapore Branch, in a statement.
Westmore is supported by Thuolase Vengadashalapathy, claims executive, and Linda Leong, office manager. The club’s underwriting, claims handling and advisory services are available from this office to members in the region and beyond.
Steamship Mutual said that members can continue to contact the club’s London office, as well as offices in Hong Kong, Piraeus and Rio de Janeiro, for support and advice.
