Aon Benfield, the global reinsurance intermediary and capital advisor of Aon plc announced the appointment of Sergio Rivera Jim茅nez as CEO of Aon Benfield Colombia, effective immediately.
He reports to Alejandro Galizia, CEO of Aon Benfield Latin America. Rivera has “extensive re/insurance industry experience,” The bulletin said. He has worked in the industry for “more than 25 years,” most recently “as Executive Managing Director of Mapfre Assistance in Americas, Europe, Asia and the Pacific.
“Prior to this position, Mr. Rivera was employed in several high profile roles at Mapfre Colombia and Latin America.”
Galizia expressed his confidence that Rivera “is bringing the perfect combination of skills and talent to our team, which will allow us to continue to provide optimum transactional and advisory services to clients.”
He also described Rivera as a “proven and talented leader, who has a skillset that complements our operations in Colombia and the wider Latin American region. His international experience, as well as his deep knowledge of the Colombian market, is a great match for Aon’s client promise agenda.”
Rivera qualified as an industrial engineer from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogot谩. He holds an MBA from the Instituto de Empresa de Espa帽a.
