Specialist insurer Beazley, headquartered in London, announced the appointment of Dirk Froese as head of aviation from May 2016 to coincide with the planned retirement of the current leader, David Oates.
Froese joined Beazley in 2012 as head of general aviation and has extensive experience gained over many years in the aviation underwriting market.
“Dirk is a well-known and respected figure in the market and it is testament to David Oates’ leadership that we have such a strong team from which to select a successor,” said Clive Washbourn, head of Beazley’s marine division.
Washbourn said that Chris Sheard will continue to play a key role in the team, as head of airlines, working closely with Froese “to ensure a smooth leadership transition.”
