Chubb Insurance Company of Europe SE announced the appointment of David Barr to the role of European Environmental Manager.
Fred Shurbaji, Chubb European Commercial Manager, explained that Barr “will be responsible for growing our environmental business across Europe. Environmental insurance is a specialist area and Chubb is one of a limited number of carriers which provide this product.”
He added: “It is important for all companies to consider their environmental risks and exposures; even more so for multinational companies dealing with different national and trans-national laws and regulations. Our ability to offer this product fits very well with our offering for multinational businesses.”
Barr has over 20 years’ experience in environmental insurance. He joined Chubb in April 2013 as the Deputy European Environmental Manager. Prior to that he spent 10 years as a broker at Willis and Marsh and 13 years in various environmental consultancy roles.
