Employee-owned, London-based insurance broker R K Harrison announced that David Rees has joined the firm to “head a dedicated cyber practice within its specialist casualty team, responding to the increasingly sophisticated demands for coverage in this space.”
Rees joins R K Harrison from Marsh, where most recently he was a Senior Vice President in their Media/Tech E&O Department. He joined Marsh’s Errors and Omissions team in 2005, focusing primarily on the E&O needs of technology and telecom companies, as well as running the London Intellectual Property insurance team.
Rees specializes in “the placement of standalone cyber and tech E&O policies for a range of different industries around the globe,” said the announcement.
Head of Casualty Solutions Justin Whitehead commented: “R K Harrison has had great success placing cyber policies. The market is developing quickly and we know that our clients will benefit from David’s expertise in this complex and fast moving area of risk.”

Rees added: “We expect to see even greater interest in standalone cyber coverage over the next few years, particularly as countries expand their regulatory framework to include US-style privacy notification laws. R K Harrison’s independence, as well as its experience and relationships in this area give it real ability to provide innovative products and services to our clients.
