Marsh has appointed Flavio Piccolomini as CEO of Marsh Italy and Emanuele Cordero di Vonzo as General Manager.
Piccolomini joins Marsh after 18 years with Willis, where, after holding a number of different positions, he was CEO for Continental Europe. He was also the Global Head of Financial Institutions, Professional Risks and M&A in London before returning to Italy in 2004.
“In his role as General Manager, Emanuele Cordero di Vonzo is responsible for Marsh’s business management and development activities in Italy,” said the bulletin. He previously headed Marsh’s Risk Management Practice in Italy.
David Batchelor, CEO of Marsh in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, welcomed Piccolomini, indicating that his experience in the insurance industry, both in Italy and internationally would “be of great benefit to our existing and future Italian client base. In particular, he has a proven track record in growing businesses and delivering excellent client service. He is therefore very well qualified to lead our drive in strengthening Marsh’s position in the Italian market, developing the firm’s proposition to clients and enhancing our local insurance and risk management expertise.”
