The ACE European group has appointed Emma Bartolo as Environmental Risk Underwriter in Manchester, in a move that enhances its regional specialty lines underwriting capabilities.
She “will be responsible for driving environmental liability business growth through the development of key broker relationships and other distribution channels in the Midlands, Northern England and Scotland,” said ACE.
The bulletin added that her “appointment further strengthens ACE’s environmental liability team which includes Wayne Harrington, UK & Ireland Manager – ACE Environmental Risk and Tom Hillier, Senior Underwriter – ACE Environmental Risk.”
Bartolo joins ACE from WSP Environmental Limited where she was a consultant, responsible for providing environmental due diligence services on property and corporate transactions in the UK and overseas. Prior to this, she worked for Manchester City Council and was involved in the council’s contaminated land inspection strategy. Emma is also an associate member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment.
Harrington noted that “increasing the levels of awareness and understanding of environmental risk amongst regional brokers has a vital role to play in our business strategy. Emma’s experience and understanding prove invaluable in helping to achieve this.”
