The Zurich Financial Services Group announced that Reto Schiltknecht would join the company as Group General Counsel as of September 1, 2007.
He will also become a member of the Group Management Board and will oversee all legal and compliance functions worldwide across the Zurich Group.
Zurich’s new top lawyer has “more than 15 years of broad based legal experience.” He joins the Swiss-based insurer from the Schindler Group where he was Head of Corporate Legal and Deputy Group General Counsel.
CEO James J. Schiro noted: “At a time when the insurance industry is focused on increasing regulatory and compliance issues throughout the world, we are extremely excited that someone of Reto’s proven abilities will be joining Zurich to lead the Legal function. Reto is a welcome addition to the Zurich management team.”
