Aspen Insurance UK Limited has announced that it intends to expand its London market insurance portfolio.
Aspen’s bulletin said it has created “a new underwriting team headed by liability specialist John Henderson, and including marine hull underwriter Kevin Golson,” to establish a marine insurance business. Nick Bonnar, who is responsible for Aspen’s London Market Specialty lines, will lead the team.
CEO Chris O’Kane commented: “This move is part of our strategy to grow our insurance business in complex technical lines and help balance our overall portfolio. Because of its excellent broker distribution network and strong infrastructure, the London market is the global leader in marine insurance. These factors combined with the current attractive underwriting conditions and our strong technical and financial ratings provide the right platform for Aspen to expand its specialty insurance operations.”
