ACE Chairman and CEO Brian Duperreault announced that, effective immediately, Vice Chairman Evan Greenberg has been appointed to head the international operations of the ACE Group of Companies.
Greenberg, the younger son of AIG’s CEO Maurice “Hank” Greenberg, joined ACE in November, 2001, shortly after leaving AIG. He was named to the post of Vice Chairman with the responsibility to oversee the growth and development of Ace’s global reinsurance operations, and to serve as CEO of ACE Tempest Re.
Duperreault expressed high confidence in his abilities, stating that.”Our business operations in Europe, Latin America, the Far East and Asia Pacific, as well as at Lloyd’s, have been reporting directly to me for almost a year. Given Evan’s considerable experience in the global insurance and reinsurance sectors, it seems particularly fitting that he now assumes responsibility for the continued development of these business units. He’s done a great job so far in identifying opportunities to expand our reinsurance operations and I have no doubt he will apply the same astute analysis to the development of our international business.”
