Hamilton, Bermuda-based ACE Limited announced that John A. Krol was appointed to its Board of Directors, effective immediately. Krol is the former chairman and CEO of E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company.
Krol has worked at du Pont in Wilmington, Del., from 1963 to 1999, in various positions of increasing responsibility, including research, marketing, manufacturing and management of various businesses, as well as vice chairman.
The ACE Group of Companies provides insurance and reinsurance for a diverse group of clients. The company conducts its business on a global basis with operating subsidiaries in nearly 50 countries.
