Oakland based EQECAT, a division of ABS.EQE, which specializes in catastrophe management and consulting services, was chosen to receive the “Professional Service Provider of the Year” award by The Review – Worldwide Reinsurance magazine., a leading U.K. reinsurance trade publication.

EQECAT’s risk assessment and active participation in risk management were singled out for special recognition. “The company specializes in catastrophe risk analysis, but goes beyond that and accumulates data to actively do something. A very big part of EQECAT is its ability to re-engineer risk to make organizations less risk prone; it has been particularly successful in re-engineering multiple location corporations,” said the announcement.
