Authorities in New Hampshire say a woman was struck and seriously injured on the tracks by a Conway Scenic Railroad train carrying passengers.
A North Conway fire official told WMUR-TV the 50-year-old woman was struck Sunday afternoon on the tracks near a restaurant and hotel. She was taken to a hospital with injuries to her head, torso and legs. Her name wasn’t released.
Susan Logan, the railroad’s marketing manager, said the train’s engineer used a horn and lights to try to alert the woman, but she didn’t move and the train couldn’t stop in time.
Logan said the train was full of passengers and on its way back to the station. No one on board was hurt.
Conway police are investigating.
