Kaplansky Insurance, a Needham, Mass.-based independent agency, has acquired Brooklawn Insurance Agency in New Bedford, Mass.
Founded in 1973, Brooklawn Insurance has built a reputation for providing a range of insurance services to both personal and commercial clients.
“The aquisition of Brooklawn is integral to the future growth of Kaplansky,” said Ely Kaplansky, president and CEO of Kaplansky Insurance, in a company press release. “This acquisition presents a compelling opportunity to continue our rapid expansion throughout Massachusetts. Our commitment to our communities, clients and to our company partners will remain the foundation for all we do.”
The addition of Brooklawn marks the 26th acquisition for Kaplansky and further strengthens the agency’s presence as one of the largest independent locally owned agencies in the Northeast.
“We will continue our search for profitable, quality agencies who have a solid reputation both in terms of underwriting and quality of service,” according to Kaplansky in the release.
Kaplansky Insurance operates 14 locations throughout Massachusetts.
