Delaware officials said an accidental fire caused $100,000 in damage to a home in Wilmington.
The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal said in a statement that the Cranston Heights Fire Company responded to a fire in the 300 block of Brookland Ave. around 2:30 a.m. Saturday. The fire marshal’s office said firefighters extinguished the fire within 30 minutes.
The fire marshal’s office said that the fire started outside the home where wood from a backyard fire pit was placed up against the house, which ignited the siding. The fire marshal’s office said two occupants of the home discovered the fire and were able to exit the house and call 911.
Officials said one firefighter was treated for minor burns.
