IFG Companies has promoted Christopher M. Lewis to executive vice president. He is based in IFG’s Hartford, Connecticut, office.
Over the past year, Lewis has served as IFG’s chief risk officer, where he has been responsible for developing and overseeing IFG’s risk management policies to ensure that IFG’s insurance business risks, operational risks and financial risks are appropriately monitored and controlled. In that capacity, he has also led and managed IFG’s ceded reinsurance program.
Lewis joined IFG in February 2014 from The Hartford Financial Services Group, where, most recently, he had served as senior vice president and enterprise chief insurance risk officer.
Founded in 1985, IFG provides property/casualty insurance on both a non-admitted basis and an admitted basis. IFG is headquartered in Burlington, North Carolina, and has two principal business units, Commercial Accounts and Specialty Accounts. Coverages are underwritten by IFG’s affiliated insurers: The Burlington Insurance Company, First Financial Insurance Company, Alamance Insurance Company and Guilford Insurance Company.
