Starkweather & Shepley Insurance Brokerage Inc. in East Providence, R.I., recently announced two promotions.

Hilda D. Barbosa was promoted to assistant enterprise manager from account executive. Barbosa, who has been with Starkweather & Shepley for over 35 years, is based in the firm’s East Providence headquarters.

Additionally, Sean Cottrell has been promoted to vice president of Insurance Professionals of New England (IPNE), a Starkweather & Shepley division in Sturbridge, Mass. He has been serving as vice president and practice leader of the Human Services Practice Group at Starkweather & Shepley Inc. He will continue to be practice leader of the Human Services Practice Group in addition to taking on new responsibilities as vice president of IPNE. Cottrell started as account executive at Starkweather & Shepley in 2006. He is also based in the firm’s East Providence headquarters.
