Virginia’s State Corporation Commission is reviewing rules governing long-term care insurance to determine whether revisions are needed.
The SCC said Tuesday that it is seeking public comment on the rules.
Comments and suggestions also are being sought on a recent report by the SCC’s Bureau of Insurance.
The report identified reasons why rates have increased for many policyholders in recent years.
The SCC says in a news release that it directed the Bureau of Insurance to study premium rate increases since 2009.
