Quaker Special Risk, an independent E&S brokerage firm with its principal Massachusetts office located in Worcester, announced the opening of a new office in Boston.

The firm also announced the appointment of C.J. McCarthy as an account executive at the new Boston office. Previously, McCarthy has served with C.V. Starr & Company and American International Group.

Founded in 1960, Quaker Special Risk has been working with insurance agents and brokers throughout the United States to develop unique insurance coverages for its clients. The firm also has offices in Eatontown, N.J., and West Palm Beach, Fla.
