XL Group plc has promoted James Thielebeule to regional vice president and manager for the Northeast region of its marine business.
In his new position, Thielebeule will manage growth strategy, producer management, and personnel management for all ocean marine and inland marine lines across the Northeast region. He reports to Mike Perrotti, head of marine field operations for North America. Thielebeule is based in the greater New York City area.
Thielebeule joined XL Group’s marine team in 2003 as an excess liabilities underwriter, soon after being promoted to product manager for excess marine liabilities. Prior to his XL tenure, he worked as an underwriter for the Water Quality Insurance Syndicate.
Ireland-headquartered XL Group plc’s insurance companies offer property/casualty, professional and specialty insurance products globally. In May, XL Group reported $176.6 million net profit for its 2012 first-quarter.
