AmWINS Group Inc. promoted Matt Szkotak to branch leader of AmWINS Brokerage of Pennsylvania, located in Philadelphia.
Szkotak has been serving as property manager in the Philadelphia office for the past 10 years and will continue to lead the property brokerage group. His background includes loss control and underwriting at IRI, Reliance, and Travelers; retail brokerage at Johnson & Higgins and RHH; and wholesale brokerage at Stewart Smith, now part of AmWINS.
AmWINS Group is the largest wholesale insurance broker in the United States by premiums placed. The firm is headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., and has 87 locations across 21 countries, including 50 in the United States.
With more than 2,300 employees, AmWINS is an amalgamation of over 28 wholesale brokerage, underwriting and group benefit operations which have been acquired over the course of 12 years. The firm currently receives more than 250,000 submissions a year from retail insurance agents across the United States, totaling more than $6.7 billion in premium placements.
