State Farm Insurance Company says it plans to reduce the size of a New Jersey operations center, sending about 500 jobs to New York and Pennsylvania.
The company said it intends to downsize its Parsippany office over the next two years. Some of its functions will be consolidated into operations centers in Ballston Spa, N.Y., and Concordville, Pa.
The company said some of the Parsippany workers will be offered jobs at the other locations.
Company spokesman Doug Nadeau tells The Record of Woodland Park that a claims office and sales training facility will remain in Parsippany.
Nadeau said the company also plans to close a satellite office in Farmingdale, N.J.
He said customers should not be affected by the changes, which are intended to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
