Construction continues to be a hazardous job for some workers in New York City.
The federal Bureau of Labor Statistics reported this week that of the 90 fatal workplace injuries in the city in 2008, about a third involved construction accidents.
The leading cause of death was a fall from a substantial height. Twenty-five people died that way last year.
Overall, the 90 deaths were up slightly from last year, but still among the lowest annual number since the agency began tracking in 1992.
Eighteen of the total workplace fatalities were homicides.
