The state of Vermont has issued one of its largest ever workplace safety fines against a Massachusetts firm that formerly installed cable for Comcast.
The Vermont Occupational Safety and Health Administration found six alleged willful violations by Advanced Digital Communications following an investigation of the company’s vehicles, equipment and safety procedures. It issued fines totaling $217,000.
Messages left for the Advanced Digital Communications at its Tewksbury, Mass., headquarters were not immediately returned.
The state cited vehicles with cracked windshields, inoperative lights, missing windshield wipers and missing or expired inspection stickers.
It also faulted the equipment provided to workers.
