Two former New Jersey elected officials arrested on corruption charges nearly two years ago in an FBI sting operation have been sentenced to federal prison terms.
Former Passaic City Council member Marcellus Jackson received a 25-month sentence on Monday. Former Paterson school board member Chauncey Brown received a 20-month sentence.
Both must serve three years of supervised release after completing their prison terms.
The men admitted accepting bribes in exchange for helping to steer public insurance brokerage contracts to an FBI undercover business.
They were among 11 public officials in towns across New Jersey arrested in September 2007 on bribe-taking charges.
