Ernesta G. Procope, chairman and founder of insurance broker E.G. Bowman Co., has received a lifetime accomplishment award from the National African American Insurance Association, New York Tri-State Chapter.
Procope was presented the Pioneering Award during a recent chapter meeting of the group in New York.
Her previous honors include the Turner Broadcasting System’s Trumpet Award, induction into the African American Business Hall of Fame & Museum, The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research’s 25 Most Innovative Agents in America award, Essence magazine’s Power Award and induction into the Minority Business Hall of Fame and Museum.
“She paved the way for us, and we are truly grateful.” said Benjamin Straker, president of the New York chapter of the group, which includes members in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
