Fire Marshal Says 10 Fires in Cape Cod Town Were Arson

The Massachusetts Fire Marshal’s office believes at least 10 recent fires in Provincetown on Cape Cod were deliberately set.

Most of the blazes occurred in the west end of the Cape Cod town and were relatively small. But a fire last Friday destroyed a home on Oppen Lane that was assessed at $2.3 million.

Provincetown Police Sergeant Carrie Lopes says there have been no arson fires since last Friday.

There have been no arrests in connection with any of the incidents.

While no serious injuries have been reported, fire officials have expressed concern for the safety of residents and firefighters called to battle the blazes.
