The Hospital & Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) announced its support of Govorner-Elect Ed Rendell’s short-term plan to relieve the state’s medical malpractice crisis.
“Pennsylvania’s hospitals applaud Gov.-elect Rendell for his plan to institute short-term economic relief in response to the continuing medical liability insurance crisis,” HAP President and CEO Carolyn Scanlan said in a statement.
“We also applaud Mr. Rendell’s efforts to protect our hospitals’ trauma centers through his support of trauma stabilization legislation,” Scanlan continued. “We will work with the new administration to assure the smooth, effective implementation of these solutions to the crisis, and we will continue to advocate for reforms that help our hospitals to maintain access to medical care for all Pennsylvanians.”
