The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers Association of Los Angeles recently held its installation of officers for 2001 at the Jonathan Club in Los Angeles.
Jeff Newman was installed as president. Newman has spent many years on the IIBA-LA board of directors; on the Young Brokers and Agents Committee, at both the state and national level; and as a Legislative Conference delegate from Los Angeles.
Newman’s goal this year is to increase the number of meetings in Los Angeles for the members and to get more young agents active in the association.
Los Angeles District Attorney Steve Cooley was the speaker. Cooley told of his plans while in office, which include increasing the prosecution of insurance fraud.
