Sandra Leah Babcock of Sacramento was arrested for workers脮 comp fraud.
The 45-year-old woman was an office worker for Mercury Insurance Company in Sacramento. On March 1, 1997, Babcock reportedly injured her neck and back while carrying a box of files. Following the injury, she filed a workers脮 comp claim with her employer脮s insurer, Superior National Insurance.
During medical appointments and in depositions, Babcock claimed she was unable to bend, twist or squat without pain, however, investigators learned that she was observed riding a Jet Ski at full speed and jumping boat wakes. As a result of Babcock脮s fraudulent claim, Superior National paid out more than $25,000 in benefits.
