Three companies are vying to provide workers’ compensation coverage for state agencies. Acting Insurance Commissioner Michael Riley said that BrickStreet Mutual Insurance Co., Chartis, and Zurich Insurance Co. submitted bids. The new contract will begin Oct. 1.
BrickStreet currently provides the coverage. BrickStreet had said earlier this year that it wasn’t interested in continuing the coverage. The state then began seeking bids from other insurers. After reviewing the state’s request for proposals, BrickStreet decided to bid to continue the coverage.
