The Nebraska Department of Insurance reported that it will no longer issue Home Office Employee licenses, which are limited lines licenses. The decision comes following a review of the department’s producer licensing lines of authority.
Current Home Office Employee licenses will expire at their next renewal date and are not eligible to be renewed, the department said. The Nebraska Insurance Producer Licensing Act exempts certain persons, including employees of an insurer or an insurance producer, from licensing as an insurance producer under Section 44-4051(2)(a) through (g). Producers that do not meet the required exemptions need to obtain a Nebraska Resident Producer license and are required to take the insurance examination(s) for the line of authority of the insurance products they wish to sell.
