Position Overview


The Manager of Financial Systems & Data will be responsible for the design, management, and evolution of the Company's financial systems architecture and financial data environment.

This role sits within Finance and serves as the primary bridge between Finance, the Data team, and external technology partners. The position will play a central role in:
  • development of finance-ready data structures and reporting datasets
  • enabling scalable financial reporting and analytics
  • ERP implementation


The role requires a combination of accounting knowledge, systems expertise, and data architecture experience, with a focus on enabling accurate financial reporting and efficient financial operations.

Key Responsibilities


Financial Reporting Infrastructure

  • Enable efficient financial reporting through the development of standardized financial data extracts and reporting structures.
  • Support financial reporting, statutory reporting, and management reporting processes.
  • Improve the availability and usability of financial data for Finance leadership.


Analytics & Reporting Enablement

  • Support the development of finance-ready datasets to enable efficient financial reporting and analysis.
  • Partner with the Data team to enhance availability and usability of financial and operational data for Finance.
  • Enable more timely and consistent access to data required for variance, trend, and operational analysis.
  • Support data needs related to receivables, cash application, and related financial operational metrics.
  • Support the development of standardized reporting and analytical outputs for Finance, FP&A, and Accounting teams, including leveraging automation and AI-assisted tools where appropriate.
  • Improve data transparency and consistency across financial and operational reporting.


Financial Systems Ownership

  • Serve as the primary Finance owner of the Company's ERP platform.
  • Lead financial systems configuration, integration, and ongoing system optimization.
  • Coordinate with external implementation partners during the ERP implementation project.
  • Oversee system enhancements, upgrades, and system change governance.


Financial Data Architecture

  • Design and maintain the financial data model used for financial reporting and analytics.
  • Ensure accurate and reliable data flows between the policy administration systems, data warehouse, and ERP.
  • Develop reconciliation frameworks between operational data and financial results.
  • Support the development of consistent and reconcilable data outputs for financial reporting purposes.


ERP Implementation Leadership

  • Support the design and implementation of the Company's new ERP system.
  • Define system requirements in collaboration with accounting, financial reporting, and operations teams.
  • Manage integration design between the ERP, data warehouse, and upstream operational systems.
  • Coordinate user testing, data migration validation, and system go-live preparation.


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as the primary liaison between Finance, the Data team, and IT.
  • Partner with Accounting Operations, Financial Reporting, and FP&A to improve financial data workflows.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and implementation partners on system integrations.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field; data certifications (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Power BI)
  • 8+ years of experience in financial systems, finance transformation, or financial data architecture.
  • Experience supporting or implementing ERP systems such as NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Workday, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting processes.
  • Experience working with data warehouses, financial data models, and reporting tools.
  • Exposure to AI-enabled analytics, automation tools, or data workflow optimization.


Highly Preferred

  • Insurance industry experience, particularly within property and casualty insurance.
  • Experience integrating operational systems with financial systems.
  • Experience supporting public company financial reporting environments.


Key Competencies

  • Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting processes.
  • Ability to translate finance requirements into system and data solutions.
  • Experience managing complex system integrations.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with emerging AI and automation tools applicable to finance and data workflows.
  • Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-growing, evolving organization.


The anticipated salary is 150K-190K.
